The 2024 NDC Manifesto promises two areas, critical to girl child in the republic of Ghana according to the former gender minister, an advocate and legal practitioner, Madam Lawyer Oye Bamfo.
Speaking on the side of an NDC Women program at the Ashanti region, to familiarize Ghanaian women with their share of the national cake in the NDC manifesto, organized by the women wing, the Gender advocates has revealed that, the next NDC government will continue its policy of providing free sanitation pad for all girl child to enable their sanitation needs for their monthly flow.
According to her, the current situation of a girl child in Ghana, with regards to their sanitation, is abysmal, due to tax burden the NPP government imposed on the sanitary pad, making it costly for a girl child.
She emphasized that, the current NDC manifesto in its state and form, has a promising policy to empower the female gender and make her independent and stakeholder to the development of Ghana.
She also stressed on the critical concerns of the Muslim lady and the Muslim community in the republic of Ghana, adding that, the major concerns of Muslim girl child and women, has always been their independence to wear their Hijab and practice their freedom of worship in any giving environment.
However, the plights of Muslim girl have always been curvy and unclear, as they have to always fight with the system to allow them to practice the freedom and rights provided for them by the 1992 constitution.
Madam Oye insisted that, the Next government of the NDC and JOHN Dramani Mahama, will ensure the freedom and empowerment of Muslim Girl Child and Guarantee their interest at all levels.
Madam Oye appeals for the Women in the country to vote massively for the NDC and to ensure that, the resetting Agenda of the country becomes a reality.
