The former President and 2024 flag bearer of the national democratic congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama, has made a cash donation of a hundred thousand cedi to an ongoing renovation of a mosque facility at the kasoa walantu in the central region of Ghana.

The gesture was sent through a High profile delegation made up of Alhaji Tanko, Alhaji Fahad, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar (former deputy CEO of masloc) and the parliamentary candidate of the NDC at the Awutu senya east constituency, Mrs. Naa Koryoo.

The constituted the delegation were authorized by the office of the former president to make the donation on behalf of the former president, who had an equally important assignment in other parts of the region.

The amount is expected help expedite the ongoing project started by some concerned individuals in the community.

Until recent donations coming through to the Salafiyya mosque and school complex, the project was started and facilitated by a former Assembly member and an opinion leader in the community. The facility has helped in uniting the front of the Muslims in the community as well as facilitating a medium for fulfilling their daily and weekly obligations to Allah (GOD).

The delegation also assured leadership of the community and the mosque of His excellency’s commitment to always reach out to the Muslim community, since the NDC has a long history of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence with the Muslim and zango communities across the country. stressing that, the party and future government of the NDC will always ensure the empowerment of the Muslim community and bridge the developmental gap needed, to ensure parity in national development.

Representatives of the mosque facility who received the cash donation on behalf of the community, expressed their profound gratitude and prayed massively for the victory of NDC and the former president John Dramani Mahama in the coming general election.

They have however, appealed for continuous support for the project they started and calls for others to extend hands of care to the facility to help expedite the project before Ramadan.

Currently, due to lack of funds, a section of the facility is undergoing renovation, with the hope that, when funds are available in the future, the entire structure will be removed for uniform and complete project.

Meanwhile, the Salafiyya islamic school started some 3o years back and it has since graduated hundreds of young Muslim male and females who currently teachers in most of the Islamic schools in and around kasoa. Several of such students are also having their advanced studies oversee.
