Victim of 2020 presidential and parliamentary election in awutu senya east, Abdul Latif Musah, after eleven months since election, has finally received lifetime support from stalwarts of NDC, for his two young children to enable them access primary, basic and secondary education on scholarship.
On Wednesday morning, short ceremony was carried out by the Director of His Grace Academy and member of council of elders for the national democratic congress, Nana Adaeso, Akwamu Hene of Agona Konyaako, and some executives of the party, including the 2020 parliamentary candidate, lawyer Phlis Naa Koryor, and her husband, to induct Salamatu and Mashuk, the two children of Abdul Latif Musah, into the school, where they will continue their primary and basic education on scholarship.
Nana Adaeso said, helping the children of Abdul latif, is a needful practice, as the current condition of their father requires that, external hands comes in to safeguard the educational future of these two little children. And also, as appreciation for his selflessness during election in the interest of NDC and the country.
Before his Gun wound injury, Abdul latif worked with State Transport cooperation. However, after the incident, he is unable to go ahead with his job, which he used to fend for his wife and two young children.
Even though he was receiving supports from some notable members of the NDC constituency fraternity, most especially, Phlis Naa Koryor, and her husband, there was the need for a sustainable benevolence which would return, Little Salamatu and Mashuk to school, as their fathers condition took them out of school, due to his inability to cater for their daily and occasional academic demands.
Decision by Nana Adaeso to absorb all academic charges of these children by enrolling them into his school on scholarship, came as a great relieve to the father and some members of the family of the victim.
The coordinator of the zongo caucus in the constituency, Alhaji Nurudeen, and some other executive members, also took the responsibility of acquiring books, bags and some academic needs of the children and hoping to continue on that tangent as and when their services are required, in order to give these two children, the needed peace to embark on their academic ladder.
Phlis Naa Koryor and her husband, accompanied their perpetual support to the victim since his condition, with an undisclosed amount of money in an envelope through the father, to enable him, take care of their daily upkeep for the school.
The Director of ‘’His grace academy’’ told Millennium news, he will take care of the academic needs of the children from their current state until they complete JHS and even see them through SHS if he could.
The 2020 parliamentary candidate for NDC in awutu senya east, stressed that, it was a bizarre, for the love of power, a woman like the incumbent member of parliament in the constituency, would implore intimidator tactics without giving a recourse for human sentiment.
‘’in fact he was part of my convoy when he was attack by some assailant of Hawa kooson, and he went to the hospital, so far so good recovering process is being very impressive and the party has been very supportive, as well as Naa Koroyor foundation and we are here today. Not just because we have brought him to school and paid his bails so we have to neglect him and his wife. We know the children are our future leaders. So we came today to support Abdul latif and the wife to raise the children well…’’ she recounted
She added that, ‘’ we came here and we met the head master, we met Nana Adaeso and they hav accepted us, the children have been enrolled into their respective classes. We also gave them seed money to support the children with’’.
Naa Koryor reiterated that, before the election some notable organizations, including, peace council, catholic bishop conference, small arms, traditional and tribal chiefs were all present to admonish parties on the need to keep the peace before, during and after the election. However, when the incident of shooting happened, while the evidences were glaring, none of them came to sympathise with the victims nor the aggrieved party.
She said the police have equally not shown any concern to the plights of the victims and the aggrieved party.
‘so we are calling on these bodies, they should work the action, they should work what they say, they should let us know they are really there, they should not only come when there is an uprising situation, they should be there all the time to access the situation and help us find a way through every situation’’ she bemoaned.
She further asked the national executive members of the NDC to throw more lights on the current situation of the party and endeavor to identify all victims of election violence across regions and extend hands of support to them.
Deputy constituency organizer of NDC also expressed gratitude to all those who supported the course and urged other party well-wishers to replicate the gesture across the country.

meanwhile, the state, after ten months into post 2020 elections, is yet to responded to various complaints of violence characterized by the 2020 general election.
