Thursday morning was sorrowful for clergies and Ahlu sunna fraternity of Ashanti region, in the republic of Ghana, as one of their stalwart dynamic scholar, sheikh Dr. Uthman Bawa popularly known as sheikh Orlando, passed away on Thursday morning.

The national deputy Imam of Ahlu sunna wal Jamaa’a, sheikh Muhammed Kamil and the director of regional center for Islamic research and propagation, sheikh Swaalah, both confirmed the death occurred on Thursday morning after taking some short illness.

Tribute and condolences continue to pour in as his mortal remain has been since put to rest at about 2 oclock afternoon, at muslim cemetary in tafo. this is according to post sighted by Millennium news, on facebook page of Ashanti regional Aswaj.

until his demise, Dr. Orlando served as teacher and director in most Islamic Schools in the region. He has also been instrumental in the propagation and delievering of Islamic lectures.

Dr. Orlando has churned out thousands of students of Islamic knowledge and his demise has left many in grievance and uncertainty.

According to some colleague lecturers and friends in the field, Dr Orlando will be remembered by many for his nostalgic impression and sense of friendliness. He is characterized as easy going but firm on his Islamic work.

Sheikh Orlando has had the opportunity to travel to some parts of europ and united state as well as gulf, with his clergy work.

He is noted for his language dynamism. he preached with With English, Arabic , Hausa, Ashanti and other languages Unknown to Millennium news.

Orlando has been instrumental in the running of Ahwiaa Institute of islamic study and Azhariya school at tafo as well as higher institute of islamic studies at airport round about.

Dr. Orlando is doubled as the chairman of islamic Education unit in the region and has paid his dues in the re-invigoration and resourcing of Islamic schools in the region.

His wife was late before him and has also left behind 5 children with his last born named after him.
